"Paper or Plastic"
Created out of post industrial material this large woven installation is a space for the viewer to immerse themselves in. This meditative space was constructed to contemplate the limitations of duality, the two choices we are often left with; the individual or the group, up or down, paper or plastic. The seeming dichotomy of choice limits our understanding as we assume two opposing sides exist yet when two different particles come together in the CERN Hadron Collider something new occurs. We can also see this in nature as with dawn and twilight the middle ground between light and shadow or in the converging of perpendicular lines that can create a woven structure. This integration is expressive of a new conception of living, one that oscillates between our desire for universal truths and relativism. Use this installation to contemplate these contradictions, allow yourself to move between conflicting sides as well as beyond them.
is it paper or plastic? or just bring your own….
